only two things in the window that interested him at all, and they were not both temptations. One was an old rosewood camera, and Pocket was interested in cameras old and new; but the thing that tempted him was a little revolver at five-and-six, with what looked like a box of cartridges beside it, apparently thrown in for the price. Plot bullets

A young boy becomes involved in another man's obsession.
What might the camera be able to register, besides the visible and the normal?
What lengths might a man go to for the answer?

A 17-year-old asthmatic boy who longs for adventure finds just that--in spades! Along the way he is forced to grow up. Unusual book. A page turner. Enjoy!

Great fun! Well-written and with a twist at the end which the seasoned reader of detective novels from this era should be able to work out. The characters are believable and the plot moves at a good pace. Well worth reading.
